Amsterdam is a nice town along the Erie Canal between Lock E10 and Lock E11. Here you can stop at the beautiful Riverlink Park and access the town for supplies, shopping, laundry and more. For those looking to be away from the nice services of the Riverlink park, Amsterdam also offers the option of Guy Park, which is just west of Lock E11.

[edit] Enlarged Old Erie Canal Lock No. 28

Just west of Lock E11 on the south bank of the canal is the remains of an Old Erie Canal Lock. Known as the 'Yankee Hill' lock, this site was cleaned up and currently is used as a canal park with a dock for boaters to stop and visit the site. The Canalway trail also runs through the area so this makes a peaceful stop to take a walk and/or use the picnic tables and grills. Also is an old canal building that you can enter to experience what life would have been like here over 100 years ago.
